FreeKick off the summer with HHLPOA’s 5th annual Kids’ Fishing Derby specifically for rock bass. It’s on June 28th, the first Saturday of the summer on Big Hawk, Little Hawk, and Halls Lakes.

Big Hawk, Little Hawk, and Halls Lake – Rain or Shine
Schedule
8:00 AM – Start
2:30 – 3:30 PM – Rock Bass Tallying and Collection at either Memory Lookout on Big Hawk Lake, Little Hawk Lake Landing or Elvin Johnson Park on Halls Lake (your choice)
3:30 PM – Finish
Who & How
Open to kids up to 18 years old
Under 18 – no fishing license required

Join us for our Kids’ Rock Bass Fishing Derby, inviting all kids up to age 18 to catch rock bass from our three lakes! Prizes will be awarded for Most Fish, Smallest Fish, Longest Fish, Youngest Angler, and Heaviest Fish.
From 2:30 PM to 3:30 PM, we will collect and record your day’s catches on each lake with volunteers and collection barrels standing by at Memory Lookout on Big Hawk Lake, Little Hawk Lake Government Dock, and at Elvin Johnson Park on Halls Lake.
We invite volunteers to help make this event fun for the kids and families. We are looking for nine volunteers to help with this event. Three volunteers are needed at each of the lake collection sites from 2:15 PM to 3:30 PM to tally results, take photographs, and collect rock bass.
