Parade of Lights – Big Hawk & Little Hawk Lake

This year’s Parade of Lights on the Hawks is going to tag and run with a play on our annual theme of the “Year of the Loon” – – this year’s theme on the Hawk Lakes is Loon – E – Tunes!  Decorate your boat with lights, your imagination…and music?! to fit the bill (pun intended), and join this fun procession of boats around dusk on Saturday evening.

Maybe you’d rather enjoy the spectacle from the comfort of a chair on your dock along the parade route? Well then decorate your dock too! We expect to see and hear a few characters out there! Prizes will be awarded for both the best boat and best dock for both Big Hawk and Little Hawk Lakes.

And to up the ante, there is also a Grand Prize this year that will be drawn from among all of the winners from each of the lakes – – the Hawks and Halls Lake.  A Napoleon BBQ has been donated for the event:  https://www.napoleon.com/en/ca/barbecues/products/gas-grills/rogue-xt-series/rogue-xt-525-sib-rxt525sibpss-1. They have only asked that the BBQ not be subsequently sold on Facebook Marketplace.  It is intended to be used, not sold.

The map for the parade route is HERE. This year there will be a registration process that will happen at the start area; There will be a registration boat the will be doing these registrations. There are two judging locations, so be sure to stay with the parade if you want to be considered for “best decorated boat”! Plus, we will have separate judges for the docks on Big Hawk and Little Hawk so even those who are not on the “official” route can still be judged for “best decorated” dock.

At the conclusion of the parade route, continue a bit north on Little Hawk Lake to enjoy the “drive by live music”!

The Parade of Lights will start at sunset around 8pm.   But be assured that the “drive by live music” will be great, and the line-up of “feathered friends” will return again this year to guide you through the Narrows!
