HHLPOA AGM is this Saturday – please register!

Please join the HHLPOA board and the Halls & Hawk Lakes community for the annual general meeting of members this Saturday, June 21 at Shalom by the Lake on Halls Lake.

Starting at 9:30 with coffee and treats, the business meeting will begin at 10am. Our agenda includes the HHLPOA business meeting, with a review of our financials, activities and programs and governance related items that are important for the smooth operations of HHLPOA. As members, you are entitled to review and give input to the board on several important items, including the following:

Following the business meeting, we will hear from FOCA’s Terry Rees about the Source Water Protection Program HHLPOA is participating in this year, from the Lake Plan Update committee regarding the outcomes of our refreshed Lake Plan, from Algonquin Highlands Mayor Liz Danielson plus Councillor Sabrina Richards and from two of our board members regarding our “Year of the Loon” projects. You’ll also have an opportunity to order Year of the Loon merchandise (proceeds will support HHLPOA) and connect with several community partners, including U-Links, Algonquin Highlands Fire Department, Places for People, and Minden Community Food Bank.

As is our tradition, we will be holding a live and silent auction for several beautiful creations from our “Lakeside Markets” artists and artisans (like this Loon from artist Bob Mowbray), as well as a garden consultation from Haliburton County Master Gardeners.

Come for the meeting and stay for our post-meeting community BBQ which will start at noon. Pay “by donation” for delicious grilled burgers plus chips and drinks; it’s a great way to meet and re-connect with your friends and neighbours in the community. Everyone is welcome to the AGM and the BBQ!
