In spite of the snow and ice currently blanketing Big Hawk Lake, we know that the snow will stop falling, the ice will eventually melt, and we will once again be able to get to our cottages by boat as opposed to by snowmobile.
The annual “ice out” competition has opened, this year with a website to record your guess. You can see current guesses and what kind of prizes have been donated for our winner, and you can enter your guess, at: http://www.iceoutchallenge.ca/ You’ve got until 10pm on March 31 to make your guess.
Be the closest to the date and time that “ice out” is officially called on Big Hawk Lake and you’ll even win some prizes donated by the community!
