Parade of Lights this Saturday August 3rd

The stars will hopefully be shining on Saturday, August 3rd, but the lights everyone will be paying attention to will be the Parade of Lights!

With registration on Big Hawk Lake from 8:00pm to 8:30pm for Big Hawk & Little Hawk boats, the parades for Big Hawk, Little Hawk and Halls Lake will get underway at sunset (around 8:30pm).

For Halls Lake: Boats are to gather in front of Elvin Johnson Park by 8:30pm, and the parade of creatively decorated floats will circle the lake under the guidance of our lead boat. If you’d rather participate from your dock or shoreline, feel free to get creative and decorate your dock! There will be a prize for “Best Decorated Boat” and “Best Decorated Dock” on Halls Lake. The winners of those categories will be placed in a draw for our grand prize – a fabulous barbeque generously donated by Napoleon.

Information on the Halls Lake Parade of Lights is also on our website: https://hallshawklakes.ca/event/parade-of-lights-halls-lake-2/

For Big Hawk & Little Hawk Lakes: Important – there will be NO pre-parade BBQ! Gather in front of Graham & Janet’s cottage on Big Hawk Lake (the 5th cottage from Scott’s Point) between 8:00pm and 8:30pm to register for the “Best Decorated Boat” category. We will have a yellow “Halls & Hawk Lakes Property Owners Association” banner on our registration boat to help you recognize it.

The Hawk Lakes parade will end on Little Hawk Lake with a shoreline concert you will enjoy from your boat thanks to the Chrow/Le Neveu family and Matty Burns, a Little Hawk Lake musician.

The theme this year is “Loon-E-Tunes”. We can’t wait to see what you come up with for your float! If you’d rather participate from your dock or shoreline, feel free to get creative and decorate your dock with that same theme. There will be a prize for “Best Decorated Boat” and “Best Decorated Dock” on each of Big Hawk and Little Hawk Lakes. Just like for Halls Lake, the winners of those categories will be placed in a draw for our grand prize, the Napoleon barbeque.

A  map of the parade route and boat judging locations is below:

If your dock is not near the parade route, please email president@hallshawklakes.ca to notify us of your location. We don’t want to miss you!

HINT: in order to be judged at sunset and when night has fallen, make sure to take part in the full parade

There will be no pre-registration for these events. Should we need to delay the Parade of Lights due to rain, the rain date will be Sunday, August 4th. Keep an eye on your inbox or Facebook to see if we are “weathered out” on Saturday.
