Should you purchase a defibrillator?

Recently we’ve had some questions about purchasing a defibrillator and sharing it amongst neighbours.  While this poses some issues to consider including cost, ease of use and that all important proximity, you should also think about training to use the defibrillator as well as planning for upkeep.

Number one thing to consider – how effective will a defibrillator be if you are not able to retrieve the defibrillator in less than 5 minutes?

Federation of Ontario Cottagers’ Associations (FOCA) has partnered with Action First Aid to negotiate a discount for FOCA members. If you have an active membership with the HHLPOA, you automatically have a membership with FOCA and are entitled to FOCA member benefits. Is your membership lapsed or do you need to become a member? It’s easy on our website: https://hallshawklakes.ca/membership/#WhyJoin

There is also training available following a purchase. Check out the attachments:
