Trees damaged by the ice storm?

Did you arrive at the cottage and find damage to your trees from the ice storm earlier in April? Haliburton County has some information for you:

The County recognizes the damage many shoreline property owners have experienced because of the recent ice storm and accompanying strong winds, and that swift action may be required to prevent any further damage from occurring.  While still having regard for the Shoreline Preservation By-law, we’ve put together a special ‘reporting service’, that simply notifies us that work is being undertaken to clean up a stretch of shoreline.  Filling out the short form makes sure that property owners and contractors working on the shoreline cleanup are protected and that the work is properly recorded. This also helps answer any questions from others by showing that the cleanup is being done the right way.

We’ve set up a dedicated section of the storm webpage for this effort.  It contains useful information for property owners and contractors, as well as a link to the aforementioned form. It all can be found here: https://www.haliburtoncounty.ca/en/living-here/ice-storm-2025.aspx
